Our History 1995 Another Liquidator liquidated a Marriott in Denver and opened an interim warehouse-store long enough to sell off the furniture. They were about to close their operation at what is now our Thornton store at 900 East 104th Avenue when Tom Scholet and his partner decided to buy the assets and take over the business. 1996 Tom bought his partner out and continued the business under the name National Hotel Liquidators, Inc. (NHL). During the next four years the business grew to four Denver metropolitan area stores and did more than 200 liquidations in Colorado and surrounding states. Quality furniture and furnishings were liquidated from client hotels including: the Brown Palace in Denver, the Hyatt in Beaver Creek, the St. Regis in Aspen, the Warwick, Embassy Suites and Westin in Denver, the Royal Omni in New Orleans, Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, the Broker Inn in Boulder and the Saint James Place in Beaver Creek. 1998 NHL made a serious commitment to the hotel installation business, and has subsequently completed over 75 installations. A partial client list includes: the Marriott in Denver Tech Center, the Embassy Suites in Colorado Springs, the Westminster Westin, a Double Tree, multiple Holiday Inns, and the Hyatt in Beaver Creek. 2001 The retail outlet expansion strategy took on new meaning when the Metropolitan Association for Retarded Citizens (MARC), a prominent organization operating 15 retail thrift stores in the Colorado Front Range, purchased NHL. Tom continues as C.O.O. of the new company, Hotel Furniture Outlet, Inc. 2002 We have launched an industry first: an online catalog of more than 300 FF&E items, updated weekly. We are now in a 50,000 square foot warehouse at 900 E. 104th Ave. in Thornton. Come out and visit us! 2002 Hotel liquidation proved to be too cumbersome for the ARC so National Hotel Liquidators, resurrected by Tom Scholet to satisfy the outstanding liquidation and installation contracts, hit the ground running. 2006 We have grown conservatively and substantially over the past four years. This past year we have liquidated and installed in Cincinnati, Los Angles, Harrisburg, and in Colorado, Crested Butte, Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Longmont, Boulder, Castle Rock, and several in the Denver Metro area. Our commercial business is growing by leaps and bounds as new customers discover just how great our furniture is.
